WG nipple placement ???

so i am wondering if this is a accurate place to read the boost pressure for the waste gate ? if there is a better place?

opinions please

isn't that a freeze plug location? what are you hooking up exactly? Boost gauge? Boost controller?

note: i didnt do this, previous owner did.

a hose was going from that into the car then a fitting then back out the car to the waste gate.

Isn't there a nipple right next to that?

Are you using all 3 of those nipples on the front of the UIM?
What about all the nipples on the back side?

Uh... a better place would probably be the compressor side of the turbo? I'm assuming it was running to a manual boost controller if it was running from there into the car before going to the wg.

so actually in the compressor housing or if i put aa nipple in a intercooler pipe right by the compressor would that work?

a wastegate doesn't need to see vacuum, only boost pressure. any source between the compressor wheel of the turbo and the throttle plates will be perfect.

so i found out that where the PREVIOUS owner put that fitting was in a exhaust passage !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

really man lol

this could explain all kinds of problems. hopfully it wont overboost as bad now if it actually gets correct readings
