FTP "Flash To Pass" lens difference between years ( smoked VS Clear ) .
I don't have the lens on my car and I'm getting ready to order some but they are $98.00 cdn a piece at my local Mazda Dealership.
I just want to make sure I'll order the right one.
I'd like to know which years has the "smoked" one.
I don't know if it is available but is there just a Black cover available instead a lens ?
Thanks.

Ah ok , I didn't know that , I went to the Mazda dealer and the guy came up with 2 different part number for Right and Left ( 2 part number for right , 2 part number for left )
I'll try to get back there this week to find out if he made a mistake or not.
At this price I just want to make sure I'm getting the right one......

I've replaced all lens on my car ( parking lens I mean ) for new one to make her looks good.
I know they look terrible when they gets old.
I bought the car late in October 2009 and it will not sleep outside anymore and neither seen rain again ( unless I get caught ) so the new lens will look new for years. The car is always in a heated garage from now on.
It's my toy that I'm restoring.
Updated pics. here .

Wow...I'm surprised you can buy the FTP still from the dealer. I bought a decent pair on ebay for about $30, but finding a good pair on ebay can be tough, I just created a search that would email me whenever they would pop up. Found a pair up there right now that seem nice

If you get older ones though, use some type of epoxy to re-enforce the mounts before installing. I used the stuff I think called Steel Epoxy Putty that I got at Lowes that worked great. The mounts tend to weaken over time.
That's a nice car mpcv2000, but I admit mix feelings with seeing a piston engine in an RX-7 . Still, it must be a rocket with the LT1 in there? I've got a vette with the LT-4, they are great engines!

I bought it already swapped and liked it because it was different then the other cars and it does look stock except the wheels.
Best "toy car" I ever have.
Low end power is nice , you know what I'm talking about.

Have you seen the updated pics. of your ex-car ?
A few post up , pics. are from a few weeks back.
We have 2 option , I drive down to your place and you take your ex-car for a spin and I grab the lens or I send UPS to pick those up to your place.
I'm so happy with the car you sold me , best swapped car ever.

what about the ones in the convertibles, they look smoked, though they are blanks

If yes can you send a email to a admin to let me in ?
I signed up but without even been able to post anything I got banned.
I guess they had problem with spam or what ever they call it and they block all new members.

when i bought my car the ftp lenses were spray painted black and looked terrible when light shined through them so i made my own out of plexiglass and painted them with transparent black paint. it was almost free and looks pretty sweet....just a thought instead of spending $60 or so
