Wet nitrous shot

Hi,
what wet nitrous kit would you guys recommend? I am going to use it in my 86 n/a. I was thinking of something along a 50-70 shot.

I was looking at FC3S.org how to, and they used the NOS Nitrous #5132 kit. I cannot find it on Summit Racing however.

If you guys also have any more install how to that'd be great!

NOS is prolly the best out there due to the quality of the parts/accessories, the number of availble accessories and its experience in the business.

just make sure you know and have the complimentary mods to make it a safe system.

injectors no.........fuel pump very recommended.

ull need a higher pressure pump. problem is with that alone, ull run really really rich at idle and low load driving. to stop that, ull either need a resistor pack or an SAFC to tune it.

if u dont get an upgraded pump, u run the risk of running too lean during nitrous activation (coz now the pump is feeding the injector and the fuel nozzle)and detonate.......there goes you motor.

a 50-70hp shot should be fine with the stock pump, but its a 15+ yr old car and id rather you err on the safe side.

With N/A's, its usually not the engine you worry about... it is the drivetrain holding up. If you have a good clutch and a solid tranny/rear-end, 100 hp shots and upwards are not an issue with proper tuning.

I usually start at 80 hp shots on an N/A and go from there. I dunno why Sd is so adamant about only a 50 shot.

a 50hp shot is only 35 at the wheels. If I was going to do it I would get a at least a 75 to 100 or its not really worth the 600 bucks. Also the last time I checked Pep boys installs these kits and warantees all the work. Kinda crazy when you think a national chain would stand behind that type of modifications.

Yeah I see your point but one of the guys at the Laurel, MD Pepboys is one hell of a mechanic. Doesn't know **** about a rotary but can install Nitrous kits in his sleep. He is one of those V8 guys. Anyways just throwing out a suggestion for a waranteed installation.

Nope. I would say it is far less dangerous than using nitrous on a piston engine. Nitrous is also a detonation suppressant.
