Well it seems my engine blew...

It drove fine in the morning.. then went out for lunch and about 4 blocks away I was at a stop sign, when I went to go I heard a pop. then there was no power and it wouldn't idle.. low rpm's it would shake bad.. I managed to drive it home and I did a poor man's compresion test.... Killed the fuel pump switch, pulled teh egi fuse and I pulled out a plug on the rear rotor, since that seems to be the one that always goes. and cranked her over... Nice steady stream of whhoooosshh, whhoooosshh, whhoooosshh.. so i put the plug back in and pulled one on the front rotor.. Nothing... had someone crank it for me and put my thumb over the hole and there is barely any air pushing out.... I thought if the apex went I would get compression on one face? I didn't get anything.. oh well..
Now I am screwed... I got $0 for another engine. so I don't know what I am gonna do.. maybe sell her for parts.. She is a 87 N/A.. pretty base model.. power nothing, does have a/c...
Not sure what else i can do....

Interesting how many engines go at stop signs. Mine did the same thing...

Try the ATF trick, you've got nothing to lose, I guess.

Should I just try the ATF in the front rotor? What just drop some in there and let it sit overnight? Is that really gonna help anything? I've never done it before.. Another thing I noticed is my plugs looked like crap.. I just changed them a while ago and the were covered with black gunk.

This isn't my write-up, so credit goes to whomever wrote it:

ATF Trick:

Proper procedure from A to Z:

1) Buy ATF
2) Buy 4 BUR9EQ (all colder, just for a minor "upgrade")
3) Let engine cool down completely
4) Remove EGI fuse and/or Main
5) Remove lower plugs and wires
6) Using a squirter, squirt ATF 2-3 times into each hole
7) Bump starter for 1 sec
8) Repeat squirting for 3 or 4 times (dont put in more than 100cc ATF)
9) Put plugs and wires back in (to keep ATF in)
10) Leave car alone for 7-8 hours
11) Bump starter for 2-3 secs
12) Repeat "Leave car alone" 2 times (totally for 24 hours)
13) Remove plugs, and bump starter to let as much ATF as possible pour out
14) Put plugs/wires/fuses back in
15) Start car (it may take some tries) OUTSIDE OF YOUR GARAGE
16) Let it idle for 10 minutes
17) If the smoke has cleared, stop engine, replace plugs
18) Take car on a highway and redline it for a minute or so

Hypntz or whatever his name is, can do a rebuild for you on the cheap. It'll be about a grand for a nice rebuilt engine. If anything, try to sell the car to someone who will put a new engine in it. All these cars getting parted out is breaking my heart.

I just lost my engine too, and I did the ATF thing. I agree with Zach, sell the car if you aren't fixing it, I'm getting sick of seeing people parting out their cars. I'm fixing mine... These things are too much fun when they work right.
