Weirdest problem ever?

OK I think I have an all time weirdest problem ever, probelm no more but for 45 min its was weird. I was out to dinner with my friend and I left the 7 at her house, after dinner we went to her grandparents house, about 30 min after that my mom calls my friends cell phone. I missed the call but I called her right back, she answeres and goes "You have to call the police they are gonna tow your car" Now at this point my jaw hit the ground. My mom tells me that my horn is going off and since she didnt have an extra set of keys they were gonna tow it. I was only a few blocks away so we sped off to see what was wrong, I assumed that someone had set the stock security system off somehow, boy was I wrong. When I got there my horn was just going off like the button was stuck down. So I opened up the car and tried to figure out wtf was wrong. I popped the hood and pulled the neg battery terminal off. I started checking fuses but they were all fine, on a whim I decided to change the engine fuse thats on the interior even though the old one looked fine. I put the battery terminal back on and no more stuck down horn. The car runs fine and even the horn works fine now. Apparently the horn went off for 45 min before anyone did anything about it lol. So long story short, WTF happened???

You HAD a short somewhere. It will probably come back (at some really inconvenient time.)
Have your CPU board connectors been resoldered?

Take a spray bottle of electrical parts cleaner (nothing like wd40 which leaves a residue), and use the red nozzle to spray in behind the steering wheel. Back there, there are metal contacts which allow the horn to work wherever the steering wheel is turned. Lots of dirt and crap can actually bridge the contacts. Clean it all up, and it will help. Mine would go off every time I turned left! This fixed it for me.

I had one of the screws come out of the inside of the steering wheel and it would lodge itself between the two contacts for the horn. Could be that. Do you hear any rattling inside the steering wheel?

You could always disconnect the horn a finger say so much more without being loud...

Well I dont think it was to connectors touching because I shook the wheel back and forth a whole bunch and the ojnly thing that made the horn stop was replacing that fuse. I do however like the idea of removing my horn, I dont use the damn thing anyways, anyone got a write up to removing the horn =)

PS- ******* leprechauns!

I would keep it!! Our cars are so little and more than a few times it has saved me and my 7. Damn people in the SUV's and big trucks. But if you do decide to lose it isn't there a fuse inside the car that you could just take out??

I stay out of accidents by driving fast enough to make sure everyone else is behind me

I dont really wanna get rid of the horn, but I am afraid that this will happen again only the police might not be so nice, they told my mom if I wasnt there in 5 min they were gonna pry my hood open. If it was a short why would it just have gone away when I replaced the fuse?

actually check your stereo wiring it could be that one of your leads is touching and making it go off your anti theft system i mean because when i was wiring up my car somehow the damn anti theft came on and my horn went shopping and all i did was touch two wires together
