While charging my battery, and dealing with interesting no spark problems prior, things start sparking.

No idea at all here. Even if the key was to ON it shouldn't do that. But you know that.

One thing that is a little odd about RX-7..............................if you get in the car and watch the tach needle and while doing so turn the key to ON (position just prior to START)..the needle will bump up slightly just one time.

Once you know this you will also find out that the primary fuel injectors fire just one time also along with the plugs firing just one time.

That information is somehow related to what your seeing.

IF you remove the charger............do the plugs stop firing???????

IN other words I DON'T KNOW what the problem is. Just guessing and looking for a hint. Some kind of miswire I suspect. What? Got me right now.

IF the charger was off the car and you saw spark when you first just turned the key to ON (not START).........that is as normal as can be. Kinda what I described in my first post here.

Constantly sparking with the charger connected is a puzzle because. It seems the charger is pulsing a charge and for unknown reasons that pulse is somehow putting power to the ECU with each pulse and that is causing the spark. NOT NORMAL at all. Some miswire somewhere.

Normal ground works on the whole like this...........Large cable on the neg post of the battery goes straight to a bolt that ties the transmission to the engine. That's the main ground point on the car. That same cable from the battery neg post also splices off and gets bolted to a place just below the left...front...strut tower...housing. Look down there and you'll sse it. THAT is the chassis gnd.

There are other gnds that are better described as Bonding Straps imho. One from the area of the wiper motor to the engine/transmission is one of those.

Then there are grounds from items like the headlights/wiper motor and the like. MANY of those chassis gnds are found on the lower back side of the left front strut tower near and below the Trail coil assy. They are all black wires in a plug that gets plugged into a metaloutfit with prongs and this outfit is in turn bolted to the rear of that left front strut tower. One of THOSE grounds is the one from the MAIN RELAY and it must be good or your main relay won't pull in.

A car will start and run without the bonding straps but if the gnd I TRIED to describe just above is not connected.........nothing good will result from that. All bad.

I also found this in that area, would that be a ground for one of the headlight whiper etc?

Got it running finally. Ran an extra jumper straight from the battery to the chasis for ground, car was siting outside for a year so im guessing the original one is corroded.
