Weird water leak

Hey guys got a strange leak happening with my fc and dont have another person round to run a hose over the car so im asking here first incase anyone else has had the problem. My car is a jspec so i was cleaning the interior the other day and discovered that there was tons of water behind my passenger seat (drivers seat for you us ppl) has anyone ever had this problem? i only discovered it after i got the air con gassed and working again it seems really silly to me but is there an air con drain that could go back there and be clogged up? there is no water on any of the seats or anything jsut the floor.

Nope, air conditioner drain is in the firewall, under the dash. If I remember right, the line for the rear hatch spray nozzle goes somewhere in the area, but its been a few years so I could be way off.
Edit: Does your car have a sunroof? It might be the sunroof drain line I am thinking of that goes along the b-pillar.

Nah no sunroof for me, they are just rust traps. I thought it would be really stupid for an ac drain to go anywhere near there but i have learnt never to doubt the stupidity of an engineer. And rear wiper is missing at the moment so i havent used the sprayer since the respray.

I would say that you should download the body chapter of the FSM and see if there is anything in that area that could cause a water leak. I personally can't think of anything else, except maybe leaky door seals or something weird like that.

I have had the same problem and noticed that my evaporator box drain tube was completely clogged although it was feet from where the water would pool and it didn't seem to connect to a flow of water from the front. To me it seems that our car is made up of a series of sheet metal panels and if you ever got a look at the floorboard with the tar layering removed you could probably understand how water could come up through the floor while driving over water. Also, there are numerous drain plugs throughout the car and I sprayed water with a hose underneath at the plugs and they seaped water like a siv.Lastly,I noticed it was the worst during the summer where it gets really hot where I live and I'm thinking the moisture in the cabin might be condensing and thus the cause.I was also running the A/C at full and due to the drain tube being clogged my evaporator and fan would have water droplets form. Are you currently going through an excessively hot time of year where you reside.Keep us informed if you make any head way.

Ok now it has to be AC related, i got it all dry yesterday and its soaked again, im talking over 1L of water. It hasn't rained since and where i live it's always hot, i have only discovered the water since i got the ac running, Evapourator box you say? i tried blasting it out with compressed air when i got the ac running and there was a fair bit of poop in there i'll look into it.

Some people are intent on cleaning the tube while it is still in place but it is super simple to remove the plug from the back of the evaporator box with a towel or bowl ready in case any water flows out .Then pop open your hood and just pull the tube out through the firewall with the rubber grommet that holds it in place and all.Clean out the tube completely then from the engine bay place the tube back into the hole and feed a little part of the grommet into the hole then continue to rotate the rubber piece until the lip of the firewall has completely fed into the groove of the grommet all the way around. This is very easy to do and does not require pushing the grommet back into place for it can't be done unless your superman. If you don't get what I am saying just tell me and I will explain it in another manner.

Your not losing coolant are you? I had a hose clamp leaking and it was running down the inside of the firewall and then running back behind the seat. Busted hear core would do the same thing.

Good deal and don't be scared on pulling the tube through the firewall for you will not be able to totally make sure it is completely cleared of all residue and the tube is not thick at all so it does not take much to clog up.Also, you might want to use a blower vac or any other suction device and try to pull out anything that is in the evaporator box.If need be use your hand to form as tight a seal as possible as you place the vac hose onto the back of the box which has the plastic tube ending which fits into the rubber drain hose.

I believe its problem solved, i think that the hose was clogged, and also not going through the fire wall where it was supposed too

Still fixed? I had a very similar sounding problem and it is because of the rear hatch vent. Water was getting in around the edges of it and it would run down to the passenger lap belt and soak the whole passenger side. It also did this when I washed my car.
