speeddemon32 - do you just keep the roof off always, or do you have it attached/sealed somehow. I'd like to fab up some kind of latching system or something along those lines to keep it removable.

since it is a drag car, i dont really need a sun roof
:-D
so the skin is just welded in place. like i said before, its just a skin, all the bracing to the back of the skin was removed also.

the chisel worked great. my all came off in big chunks, maybe its because of the florida humidity after 16+ years, but the tar under the bins came oof in 15 mins. i'm doing the area above the gas tank now.... going pretty well.

When I permanently removed my rear seats, hatch carpet, and insulation mat, I noticed that I had ZERO tar from behind my rear seats to the rear bumper. Just beautiful red painted metal. Either my car is special or all 1987 base model N/A's that were 2+2 are like mine.

I noticed that my base model also has no tar anywhere that I can see, only sound insulation.

Um... as far as removing tar... my friends have been using hammer, chisel, and dry ice. Freeze the tar, then just chip it off. Quick & Clean. Clean off the remaining bits of tar using brake cleaner.
