That what I'm trying to do. I still have two front speakers to remove. And need to replace vert seats to finally remove all stereo equipment.

I dont think having a radio in your car really adds all that much weight, a pair of speakers and a deck weighs like 5 pounds, big whoop. In a daily driver, that'd **** you off something awful, no jams on the freeway in a convertible...blasphemous.

Aluminium door panels is not "creative". On a car this heavy, they're the last place to look for meaningful weight loss.

And until you have owned a vert and then completed a t2 swap you can comment on this.
Um, you know what I drive right?

Weight loss is for the birds.

especially in a vert, mazda didn't make them to be light.

Just trade the weight you want to lose for more power. make the ratio even out and you'll be fine with a fat car.

I know mine is about as heavy as it gets for an NA. I got water in the floorboard, water in the door panels, kirk racing rollbar, caulk glue the PO put on the cracked winsheild and the ripped top, 19hrs worth of books in the trunk, and sparring gear in the front, plus 175 lbs of me.

Add it all up and you've got one fat bitch. It's cool though, there's more cushion for the pushin'.

besides my hard top is pretty light, it is an 86 base model with the interior, seats, and tranny removed. it doesn't go very fast though.

verts have more than 'a pair' of speakers.

plus there are a couple amps, etc. I'm not saying I'd recommend it. I'd go nuts w/o some kind of music available. But hey, if you're looking for easy crap to remove, it's a quick job. Some people are into that sort of thing. Probably the same people that like no interior.
