Seats... Anyone know what stock seats weigh?

I've got Corbeau Tara RS seas in my car now that weigh 27lbs each. (dropped bout 75lbs in my Probe with those)

Ah yes, I forgot. I had Corbeau Forzas in my Base. I weighed them and the base seats, I think it was a bit less than 10lbs each difference- not a bunch, but they weren't barfing their stuffing all over like the stock seats and they really held me in. The TII seats are much better for holding me than base seats, but probably weigh a bit more. When I get sick of GT3 and force feedback I might put the Forzas in my TII :-)

There's sound deadening that's "permanently" attached to the floor that you can yank, got about 25+ lbs off of my '80 race car.

Here's what you do:
1. Go buy some dry ice (a few pounds is good enough)
2. Pull up the carpet
3. Take the dry ice and break it up and drop it on the floor by the sound deadening crap. You can (IF YOU'RE WEARING GLOVES) push it down and move it around on the sound deadening to make sure it gets REALLY cold.
4. Pull out ye 'ole hammer
5. Strike the sound deadening with the hammer.
6. Watch the sound deadening chip into pieces.
7. Pull out ye 'ole shop vac
8. Vacuum up the crap.
9. Weigh the crap. Say "stupid people who like cars to be 'comfortable', what a waste of weight".

Where did you get the carbon fiber hood? Do you have any pics of it?

980KG...read it and weep fatty. Tyler, I think your car needs some rust to get that weight reduction started. Just wait until I rent that grinder for a weekend.

My car - empty weight 2140# !!!!
Yes it is a race car only but there are some strange places that I lost weight, The stock winshield weighs 17# more then the Lexan one. Hood (glass) -25, doors -30 (gutted stock), sound tar -35#, that **** is all the way up the fire wall. dash board -40#, seats ? Battery ( I use a smaller one from a honda) Header, the stainless one weighs 1/2 as much as the steel. Keep searching the weight is everywhere...

EProdRx7 - Do you have the rear lexan hatch also? Just curious about the amount of weight saved there.

Samps, how much did you pay for the 6" round ultra flow. Is it fairly quiet at idle? Shops around here quoted me b/w $150 and $300 for just the muffler alone.

Yes I do and it uses the steel frame with a lexan insert. Haven't weighed it but it has to be at least 30# lighter. I made it myself from 1/8 lexan as opposed to the Motorsport one which is 3/16 and a lot heavier.
