Weekend Project

Would it be possible in one weekend to pull my UIM and LIM, and remove the emmisions stuff? Or am I getting my self into something that may take a little longer?

Possible if you don't break or loose anything
I broke two vaccum hoses, the coolant hose that connects to the back of the intake, a BAC valve stud, and all 4(!) injector pluggs on my recent trip beneath the UIM. AND I lost one of the nuts that hold down the UIM.

Make sure you have the important stuff like block-off plates, gaskets or RTV, vaccum block-off plans, a replacement FPD or parts to remove it, som JB Weld, Carb cleaner in HUGE amounts, and a good sized stick for holding the hood higher than the prop-rod...

Another thought, if you're going to be taking it all apart anyway, might as well get your injectors serviced

If I haven't broken anything or drawn blood, I didn't work on my car.

Does anyone have any pics of a motor with all the emisions junk removed? I don't have emmsions tests here and have no cats anyway. I want to get rid of everything under the hood that I can. Although for now I still need the airpump to activate my aux ports, what else needs to stay if I leave the air pump?

if you are mechanically inclined and have all the blockoff plates and replacement gaskets (done properly) already then it would take as few as 45 minutes.

I can strip emissions and have it back together in about 2 hours or so.

If you are going to do this, then it will be a weekend project, removing the emissions and stuff is not difficult at all! however if you are going to do the TB mod and port the intake then you might as well set asside a weekend for it. There are gains from doing this. But there are lots of downfalls as well. Do a search you will find all the inormation you need for each of these mods.
Good Luck
