Weapon-R Dragon Intake Kit

I bought a Dragon Intake for my RX-7 and I'm wondering if it's any good. I put it together but theres 1 piece that just didnt fit so i left it out. Anyone have pictures step by step how to put it togethr correctly? If it's not good I'll just buy a K&N or HKS cold air intake.

I haven't put one together, but it looks pretty much like any other intake kit. The Weapon-R intakes are not very popular on our cars, so if none of our forum members post pictures in the next couple of days, then I recommend that you post pictures of your setup and the spare part in question.

The Weapon-R foam filters are not considered that great. If I were you, I would use it for a year or so until it gets dirty, and then replace it with a universal K&N filter of similar dimensions.

Also, you should put the year and model of your RX-7 in your profile, signature, or at least in your post, because there are mechanical differences that could affect the response to your questions.

If I were you, I will try to get a refund on it.

Weapon-R has been known to make "garbage" products for pure ricers.

I have used many air filters in my day and to be honest?

I now just use whatever, I used to run K&N, ran Bonez, HKS, APC, AEM, and other filters and there is no seat of the pants performance to be had and I never maintained the K&N or the other rechargable filters. I now just buy them from http://www.siliconeintakes.com for $15 and some change to ship. Use them for 2-3 years and just get a new one later. I guess over the years I became lazier about it? I find myself caring less and less and worrying more about other things .

It is an advertisement by a slick Apexi dealer who made it appear to be a technical article. While Apexi makes good filters, the article has many flaws. For example, the Apexi filter only lasts about 15,000 miles as per the manufacturer, and that article makes it look like it will last forever. Also, the filter media and "test" procedure do not comply with SAE J-726 or ISO-5011 standards. Unfortunately, that link is one of those steamy piles of bullshit that makes its way around the internet, spreading misinformation worldwide for years on end.

I have. I heard it was publicity stunt too. Alot of people don't properly oil their HKS filters and alot of people expect them to last forever. I never have seen or heard of anyone's motor actually blowing up from a shoddy air filter.
