Water Pump Weep Hole

I'm leaking Coolant from the bottom of my Water Pump, which btw was Installed only a year and a half ago.

According to the Manual, It says our Water Pumps are equipped with vent holes (duh). Further, It says If failure occurs In the Pump Seal, Coolant will leak from that hole.

What seal? Is It Internal seal or the actual Gasket seal that needs to be replaced. With the Internal seal, does Mazda sell just that alone?

I should state that I am not experiencing any over heating but just a loss of Coolant. It's getting worst now than when Initially found out about the loss of Coolant.

sure. when coolant comes out of the weephole on any waterpump, the waterpump is fucked. I believe its a GM design, the coolant comes out of that hole before the seal/bearings go out

so... need a new waterpump. simple as that. no other way around it. cant fix it. replace it

good luck

yeah, if its starting to weep, its time for a new water pump. it will progressively get worse. mine started leaking a little every now and then, and so i ordered a new pump.. and while i was waiting for it to arrive, it started leaking more and more and eventually got to the point where the coolant would gush out and decrease the cooling system alot, so it would run too hot to drive without risking engine damage. so if you're going to be ordering one from the US like i did, order it asap.

Get the genuine Mazda water pump. Don't waste your time with a rebuild or aftermarket pump, they are crap, and aren't built as good as the Mazda pumps. Definitely worth the money (they aren't very much $, too!)...

You can buy the water pump seal from Mazda, but I agree with gatorrx, you are better off buying a new water pump from Mazda.

No cheap aftermarkets for my car. With my 20% discount from the dealership, I without hesitation order nothing but genuine parts for my car.

It's strange. A year and a half later my WP fails after Installation. It came with the reman Motor. My electrical fan failed on me causing me to overheat my motor 3 times. Luckly It was colder then but I did reach that danger zone.

I think that had a major role and having a single belt on the Crank after removing the Air Pump, Power Steering and A/C. Had caused the WP to work harder potentially having the seals eat away at themselves due to the overheating.
