water pump plate removal

HEY. I am in the process of replacing my water pump, radiator, and putting and electric fan on my 86 GXL. I have it all off except the plate the water pump bolts against. I have it loose, but cant get it by the 3 or 4 lines, cant remember how many that run down to the "thingy" on the front of the engine, it will not slide out far enough to get over the bolts before it hits the lines\ I think it is the omp. Anyways, what is the best way to get it off? Also, IF I get another radiator from junk yard, what is best year to put in mine with little to no modifications?
Thanks in advance
Chase

Are you removing the whole housing? If so, the best thign to do is undo those omp lines down at the pump then move them behind the housing. You should be able to just remove the pump itself from the housing, or atleast i was able to.

yeh. I got my pump off, which was annoying in itself because I had to take the "crank" pulleys off to ge the WP pulley off. But, anywho, When I pulled on the water pump, it pulled the housing loose so I guess I have to take it off and re-gasket it right?

I found it easier to pull the studs out and then it just slides over and out without removing the oil lines.

Ok. I am back again, have ran into some problems with other cars, have time for the rx7 again. I will try and remove the studs I guess. What gasket does that plate use? Need to get car running so I can sell it for a decent penny. Asked guys over at Sneeds if they were interested and they said $100 how it sits, I was so pissed off, that is ridiculous to even say.
