water pump leak threw bottom hole

what is the reason for the water pump to start leaking out of the small hole underneath the pump?

A bad water seal in the pump itself.

If the seal is gone, chances are that a new water pump would be needed. That is the weep hole for the pump

If you tap and bolt it'll just pop out somewhere else on the pump. Like the pulley area.

New pumps are not all that much (guessing).

You can probably beat that Mazdatrix price in the jpg.
