Water Pump leak Question.

Hey Guys. K the other day it hit -36C yes that freakin cold. And all the fluid in my car frooze and i think it blew a bolt outta the water pump on the front. So no problem, i drained all the fluid and replaced it with good stuff and replaced the water pump bolt..... Now i am at work right now and i went and started my car just to let it run for a little while and then i go to turn it off. I pop the hood to check for any problems and i see that theres antifreeze leekin from right behind the waterpump. So my first assumption is the gasket needs to be replaced. Is there anything else i should check for? Could i have somehow damaged the water pump too?

Thanks in advance for all the help and advice

You're not suppose to run straight anti-freeze. Suppose to mix it with water too. I guess there was too much water and not enough anti freeze....

Any info guys?

You may have to pull the pump housing & check it for cracks.
They can be repaired with Bondo Marine Epoxy Stick.
Then RTV the WP housing to front plate seal, and reinstall the pump.

My 87 was showing overheating symptoms. What finally fixed it? Would you believe the water pump housing? The aluminum casting behind the pump was eroded clean through by the turbulence of the high revving pump and the previous owner using plain water for some time. The bypass valve seat under the thermostat had about a 4mm chamfer eroded away, and there was a 6mm hole eroded through the internal wall between the inlet and outlet side.
All this bypassing gives symptoms like a partially blocked radiator.
I fabricated a repair with Bondo Marine Epoxy Putty Stick.
It handles like chewing gum in you fingers.
It held for a year when I sold the car.
