I am getting ready to port my wastegate and install an entire RB exhaust system. My question is will I need any type of boost controller on my car? I do have a FCD installed. Or will just the porting keep me at safe levels?

 

Well from a recent reading, I believe the boost controller is only to raise boost levels. My friend with a stock T2 did the same thing you are but he also installed an uprated pump and injectors and FCD. IMO I would consider this a bare minimum of mods for the turboback.
