Do I need a boost controler?

Im upgrading to a cone filter, an open exhaust, and a walbro. I want to run about 10 psi on a stock turbo and I was wondering if I need a boost controler to get my boost to that level.

Yes, you will need a boost controller. A boost controller can only raise your boost level tho, you will also need to port out the wastegate on your turbo. This involves taking the turbo off, taking off the rear exhaust cover and drilling the wastegate hole out larger. There are a bunch of writeups all over here. By porting the wg your boost level will go down, then you can used the boost controller to raise it and set it at 10 psi. With the mods you listed you probably will hit 10 psi in 3rd, but you will only hit like 7 in 1st and 2nd, and it will take longer to build boost.

The way I read it, your mods will make over 10psi easily.&nbsp The boost controller will do nothing to lower your boost in this case.
