Its coming off the nipple on the compressor housing, just above the inlet. It goes down the right side of the turbo to the WG actuator.

i have a question about that vac line. when i replace my s5 line there was a small pellet inside of the line.

It reduced the amount of air going through. I took it out. I assumed it was a way to set it at 7psi...........

is that true?

It's a steel line bolted to the compressor housing that wraps around the TID, and is connected to a nipple on the compressor housing and a nipple on the wastegate actuator by short lengths of 1/4" rubber hose.

You assumed very wrong. Firstly, the wastegate line doesn't flow any air. Secondly, the S5 has an electronically controlled bleeder-type boost controller. Bleeder boost controllers must have a restriction between the compressor and the tee to the solenoid or they won't work. Removing the pill will lower boost, not raise it.

I've not gotten to this part of my conversion yet, but does an S4 also have this "pill" somewhere?

That's why i figured my waste gate was happy (running overtime) therefore not increasing boost and any slight pressure would cause it to open the wastegate.

The s5 turbo is on a s4 motor so it's running the olde fashion way the s4 did. It's setup right now so that any amount of pressure will move the wastegate (that's what i think).

the wastegate evidently works as i can keep boost below 12psi.

I was talking about getting a boost controller to controll the wastegate by allowing no air until the desired boost reaches instead of just routing the pressure directly to the wastegate line.

I'm glad this thread came up when It did. I replaced them with silicone ones with their respective sizes. I put the pill back In.

But will I still need It If I'm running an Electronic Boost Controller? (I have one on the way). This Is for a s5.

I installed a MBC yesterday, and for some odd reason, it won't boost more than from the factory for some odd reason.. Could a 16yr old cat do that?

When you install an aftermarket electronic boost controller you replace all the factory lines with the new ones provided. These controllers are bleeder types (just like factory one), but no restriction is required in the line because it's been built into the provided solenoid valve.
