Wanting to add a wing..

i've been wanting to add a T2 wing (i think its a T2 wing, the one that raises up and has the antennae hole?) to my 88 gxl for a while, as mine is just clean with nothing out back. yes, i know it wont make me faster, i just love the look of T2 wings. i'd like to put a black one on, not planning to paint it. my question is how does one go about mounting it? does it involve drilling into the body? how is it held on exactly? i was thinking you drill the 4 holes or whatever it has and then remove the rear carpeting and reach under where the tail lights are and put the nuts there? or is that not how it goes? i'm asking because i'd hate to buy a nice wing and end up ******* up my body by improperly drilling holes... has anyone else done this mod, if so could you explain in detail? thank you..

You will have to drill holes, or bust off the studs and glue down the spoiler (though I wouldn;t recommend the latter).

As far as getting to the holes you drill, probably removing the tail lights is the easiest way to get to the bottom side of them.

4 holes to drill.... actually I think it is 6. Not really hard, just make sure your holes are in the right spot.

once the holes are drilled and the studs are through, nuts hold the spoiler on, right, or no? if yes, would one easily find some new nuts at home depot if the wing didnt come with the nuts? thanks.

2 plastic clips and 4 studs with nuts on the underside mount the wing, total of 6 holes, just make sure you line everything up right. I have a black wing for sale if you're interested...

You know you want it

I'm always open for business, let me know...

Edit: The wing in the pic is an S4 GTU wing, I just used it as an example. The wing I'm selling is off an S5. I can't tell a difference but I've heard that the S5 wings are raised slightly higher.

wings make things fly. spoilers change the airflow.. I hate when people call them wings, just a little pet peeve (just like how toilets have rims, cars have wheels)

Dumb idea, at some point you might want to remove the spolier to paint. Cant do with epoxy. It takes about one hour to do it properly.

I like the look of the sport-model lip spoilers... wanna replace my '90 GXL spoiler with one. . When I get the car painted and a few dings taken out...

I always thought of spoilers being extensions of the body while attached the whole way around, while a wing is elevated from the body using pillars creating "air dams". I could be wrong though.
