Want to confirm a couple things about manual steering conversion...
So, in my quest for rx-perfection, I managed to fubar my power steering rack while trying to "properly" de-power it. I did end up getting it working again, but now I can't find the rubber bushings that went into the steering rack mounts. Anyways, I got a good deal on a manual steering rack while I was super angry about my f* up and I am going to use that now just to simplify things.
I have pictures of it, haven't received it yet, and it seems it doesn't mount the same way as my power one does. There are two bolt holes diagonally opposed on the area where the 4-bolt u clamp would be holding the powered unit on. Will this mate up to my sub frame that was originally power steering equipped?
Also, I have heard of differences between the manual and power tie rods. Is it the inner or outer ones? I have searched and found no measurements or different images of these items, and they all seem limited in the number of places that carry them. I currently have new inner and outer tie rods that I bought under the assumption of reusing the p.s. unit, so what is still usable?
