Walbro 255 overkill?
I am doing a n/a to turbo swap in my s5 GXL. I know I need to upgrade the fuel pump. I heard a lot about the walbro 255. This is what we are running in our omni GLHS. I have a j-spec engine. Right now im not looking towards doing much at all to it besides the RB exhaust and a k&n cone filter. Is this going to be over kill? If I do go with the RB I am thinking of putting an HKS PFC F-con in for the defenser and to make sure it dosent lean out. Any suggestion?
For the money it is very inexpensive insurance. You can never go wrong with a fuel pump upgrade. Very few things will deystroy a motor quicker than running lean. Plus you will be ready for future upgrades. Who are you kidding that you will stop at a filter and exhaust

If you want a reliable car.
don't go turbo, or if you must go turbo, don't mod it.
I say buy a cheap reliable daily driver 4 cyl. that get's 40 Mpg. and have fun with the 7. IMO.
And don't get me wrong here. I trust my car like no other. It is very reliable, I just know it is not going to last very long. 40-60k miles tops is my guess.

A turbo will not decrease the motors life if everything is working correctly. If you mod a turbo, just do it in the right order and everything will still be fine. Here's the way I went..but mind you, I don't drive it all that often, so a lot of stuff happened over the winter.
Filter
Clutch/flywheel
Exhaust
bigger flapper on wastegate
-8 to -6 fuel lines
walbro
Gigantic radiator
FMIC
This winter
Microtech install LT-12 with wideband
With all of the above, I should be ready for any turbo that I want (with injectors), then a cage, then suspension..etc..etc. The money pit goes on and on and on.

i was going to get a nippon denso high flow fuel pump for a 89 gxl t2 conversion but it's high compared to the walbro. basically i'm asking, are the walbros as reliable as a new nippon denso?
