Waht would you consider the most intense job you've done on your FC in 2004?

The pricey part was the pressing. But that can be done your self.
If she creaks in parking lots that is most likely your sublinks. Small little dog bone links that connect your trailing arms to the subframe.

The car is undergoing a complete makeover.... every part with any wear is getting replaced, and the car is being stripped to bare metal for a full paint job.
To clarify: engine has been disassembled, tranny has been dissassembled, all of the stock rubber bushings removed, all of the wires, everything. I can't possibly think of any job on an FC that could be more intense.

changing the clutch on my turbo II, but i'm still doing that. Got the transmission completely disconnected from the engine and moved back about 2 inches and won't seem to go any further. the hardest manual labor would be push starting the turbo 2 because of my leaking fuel injectors (fuel pump switch now). hardest part emotionally...either reckless driving ticket or hit-and-run on the turbo 2 (not too bad, but im still sad). hardest part sexually....wait i haven't even had sex yet. oh well

I'll likely document the entire project; its going to be the best build-up I've done on any car, ever, including my own vehicles.
You should see the shop right now... there's car parts on an entire wall of shelves solely for her car.

Fixing the broken plastic "divot" in the passenger door that prevented me from unlocking the damn door.
I thought I had a broken door handle, but it turned out to be just the plastic piece.
Aside from that, keeping the car clean and filling gas...
The car was pretty much ignored in 2004.
On other people's FC...
6 rebuilds
3 Haltech installs

Traded my 1983 Mariah widebody first gen for a Red 1991 RX7 N/A back in October.
Already installed new black carpet, head-unit, SAFC-II, wheels and tires.
FULL engine rebuild with a large street-port, ported exhaust ports, header, etc. Hoping I'll be able to get it assembled and back in the car within the next 2 weeks!!! I think I've already spent $2500.

repaired damage done by engine fire (FPD failed)
then found out the rear rotor had no compression and pulled out the motor
replaced sunroof
Prepared new engine
cleaning engine bay up
Still....
Need to finish porting wastegate and finish twinscroll removal before the new one goes in....
december is NOT the time to work on cars out in the bitter cold...

I took on the challenge of swapping a S4 TII into a S5 N/A. The hard part was rewiring the car so it would work properly that turned out to be a daughnting task that took me almost a year of working on it here and there. Im glad to say that everything works great and I only spent about $700 dollars on the whole project including purchase of both cars.

New FD rotor housings (which I already had), lapped irons which have been re-nitrided, tranny rebuild, rear end rebuild with LSD clutch pack rebuild, all rebuilt (though they are still working fine) brake calipers, new brake rotors, new bent brake lines mating to a custom-mounted 1 1/16" brake master cylinder, new clutch, tires, rims, Tein coilovers, stabilizer bars, all new cooling system with alum rad, stand-alone, all exhaust, all intake, all suspension bushings replaced with polyurethane... then you get into the little-wear parts... the door latches, key-hole plastic, engine prop rod holder, and all the interior plastic...
Then there's the parts that I need to make... sway bar endlinks, triangulated front strut brace, rear strut brace, a couple of under-vehicle braces... vehicle will be seam welded and some of the stock cross-members replaced with some more rigid and lighter chromoly units.
I figure it will be done next fall/winter with us working on it every weekend, and me putting in a two nights or so a week.
Mazdacomp?... nope. Not available to canadians. I get any Mazda manufactured part below mazdacomp pricing anyway, so it would be pointless for me.
Breaking up... why make plans for bad news? If it happens, I'll deal with it then. Obviously I wouldn't have made such elaborate plans if I had not been with the girl for such a long time or thought it would be ending anytime soon.
Finances? Well, I have a LOT of these parts already just laying around the shop, unused for other customers cars, and she's an engineer... so she does alright for money.
I'll grab a bunch of the pictrues I've got already over the next two weeks and load them up here as an introduction to the project.

Regardless, I wasn't involved in building Seth's car, so I can't fairly comment on how it would compare. I simply know this is the most involved build-up of any FC I have worked on. It will be as close to perfect as I can build when finished.

Take your pick:
a)Rebuilt and streeported motor
b)installed BNR Stage III (had to clock the compressore cover to 10 Oclock and weld a new wastgate acutor arm together to get it to work with the repositioned diapraghm)
c)designed and installed a custom FMIC, fabricated and welded all the pipes
d)installed a Braided S/S fuel system with custom fuyel rails, 1600's and Aeromotive FPR
e) Polished the aluminum parts on the motor
f) Installed AND tuned the haltech while looking at the wideband and avoiding cops
g) relocated the battery (the correct way)
This was all done during the last two weeks of May.
I had sex in it in June.... don't know if that coun'ts, but it was more difficult than fabricating the custom wastegate acuator linkage i'll tell you that...

most intense FC-work of 2004?
besides dropping in the "LS1T56" v8 and sixspeed...?
--->probably figuring out the fuel system upgrades or the custom dual 2.5" exhausts that I helped my buddy fab up for my car.... the exhaust took us an entire day to do because he is such a perfectionist but in the end its everything I had hoped.
-solid diff mount and swapping in S4T2 diff was difficult by myself but I learned a lot about the FC rear end... and its heavy as hell!
-new radiator and brackets and hoses was pretty simple.
-wiring was easy but daunting at first.
-suspension upgrade was super easy except one stuck lower strut bolt.
-race seat install was quick but took 2 tries to get it right and I still want it lower.

Most intense? Would have to be sanding the whole thing down, filling in dents, and then shooting the whole car with a couple coats of primer 2 days before I was to drive it up to JGTC, and the car wasn't even running quite yet (timing and TPS adjustment fixed that).

the biggest project in 04 for me was getting it, but other than that I got reverse glow gauges and neon shitfer, more noen, and CD player... in 05 I plan on paying for UTI courses and supercharging my little 7, unless something else goes wrong with it then I gotta drop out of UTI
