Volvo or NPR intercooler???
I have two prospects for purchase right now. Can anyone compare the performance of using a Volvo intercooler to an NPR intercooler. Please help me decide which one to purchase.
Who has used either of these before... and how did you like the performance and installation?
THX for any help.

I used a volvo intercooler in my setup, it works great over stock. Of couse I did the TID mod, and airpump removal at the same time, so I don't know how much was the intercooler. It is almost the same dimensions as the rad. Here are some pics;
Relocate the rad back a little bit and it fits in nicely.

NPR is better!
I have one forsale!..check out thepartstrader.com!
I heard that volvo IC is only good with stock turbo.
With the NPR 22x8x2.5 you can be sure that this
IC can handle higher boost level.

I was curious as to how you guys secure your FMIC's(namely the NPR). is it simply held in place by the IC tubing? or are there brackets? do you make your own mount or can i buy one?

If you put the NPR I/C in the very front of the nose and invert it so the outlet/inlet are on the bottom the lower oilcooler studs line up just right w/ the I/C mounting points. You can extend the studs by making and screwing some I/C mounts onto the ends or make a U shaped metal bar that will go onto the stud on one end and be bolted to the I/C on the other. For the top you can make a bar that goes accross the front of that area of the car. To get mine to fit how I want it I will have to remove the two plastic covers infront of the rad. (I have a cooling panel to do their job) and cut the plastic undertray where the inlet outlets are on the I/C a bit. If you have an I/C you can just play w/ it and find where you want it. Infront of the rad. will reduce lag from shorter piping, but in the very front will keep it cool since it is out of the engine bay.

What i was planning to do with my 22X8X2.5 NPR IC is have the end tanks customized with the inlet/outlets sticking up and having it extended all the way up on the buttom of the hood latch support.
