can you explain further what you are trying to do

you do relize everything inside and outside the motor is different right?....

you can't just take a few parts from one and stick them on the other.

After further reading I think he will realize it's not as easy as it seems.

You might as well get a TII motor and tranny. This project is not easy and the money you spend on the conversion will surpass what you paid for the car. Maybe.

You know the saying " There will always be someone faster than you".
If you want a turbo car, sell the NA and search for a TII. They are NOT that much more than an NA. Then at least you'll be able to drive the car than up on stands for a year and pouring money into something you're not sure will run 100%.
The money you plan on investing to do a conversion can go towards a nice TII and hopefull low mileage.
If you had an immaculate convertible, it might be worth the effort since there were no 'vert turbos in the US.

The T2 motor is so radically different the swap that you are trying to do is above the abilities that you have (based on your posts so far).

Some basics:

The non turbo motor is a 6 port, requiring a 6 port intake system.

The turbo motor is a 4 port.

So the intake systems are not compatible/swappable.

Then,

The turbo and turbo exhaust manifold will not attach to a non turbo motor without a custom built exhaust manifold spacer or custom exhaust manifold, as the non turbo intake manifold is in the way.

Add to that,

The non-turbo motor does not have the provisions for oil or water cooling the turbo. You will again have to fabricate connections for these.

280HP is above what most people are producing even on a turbo motor without major modifications to the fuel and exhaust system. The stock 87-88 Turbo motor only made 180HP. adding an additional 100 HP is a bit of work.

Well, he's been warned more than once. Next thing, we'll read how he blew the motor!

Give the guy a break. Obviously he's new to the rotary and wants feedback. At least he's not cocky as some new members and he is listening.
We all have been there and done that when we were younger (damn, I sound like a father).
Ask away, you'll learn a lot from the forum. Just don't be cocky

o my N/A Motor has 130k miles on it and i read that adding a turbo to it your putting more strees on the motor giving it more chances of dieing and the amount it cost for a turbo kit i could just buy a TII motor with not that many miles on it im shure

The 86-88 non turbo motor (as found in your car) has the same exact compression as the 89-92 Turbo motor.
