very high oil pressure

after i did the s4 to s5 swap, my car seem to have VERY high oil pressure

when i first start it, it would be around 60, and eventually it would build its way up to 110, and all the way to the top of the gauge

i dotn think it is good and have no idea what is causing it because i did not touch the internals at all.

could it be caused by omp blocked with bolts?

Did you check with an accurate aftermarket gauge? Stock oil pressure gauge is notorious for not being accurate.

i am hoping that is the case... i dont have an access to any aftermarket gauges... but when i start it, it goes to around 30-60, and it just keeps increasing after that.....

Basicly, you need to go spend about 10 bucks to build a mech. gauge.

There is nothing anybody can do for you here. Until you check the pressure your self.

Sounds to me like the condenser for the oil pressure guage is broken, it a black plastic square object with a single wire coming out of it, you will find it in the area of the slave cylinder on the bell housing, although on my N/a its mounted to the brake master cylinder..max

I'm having a similar problem.
I just replaced my oil pressure sender.
my guage worked fine at first,
but the next time I looked, my oil pressure guage needle was maxed out, past 110.
It stays pinned even with the car off & the battery unhooked.. is it just stuck?
My condensor black box is still there & all..

What should I try next?
where should i look for a short.

This one,..
Does anyone have an extra one of these,.. could you send me one?

I found the wire nearly severed on the one connected to my clutch slave cylinder,
So I temporarily replaced it, with another of the same part,.. there's one connected to the trailing coil's mounting point on the driver's strut tower.

My OP Guage is still pinned past 110,..
do you'all think its stuck.. should I open the guage pod & try to move it?
with my messed up dash wiring, you don't even know what a pain thats going to be..
theres gotta be something else I can try first..
suggestions, anyone?

I too am looking for answers.

Mine worked great, did a clutch job and broke off box and it still worked( but very irradic)...then It pegged at max sometime round my turbo swap.
I just repaired wire to box and put it back on...and nothing, still maxed.
Did I fry it?

You have to have the box....in working order.

I don't have an extra. Check the junkyard thats a pocket item. The Stealership will charge you $879 for that part ( well maybe not $879 but a high price no less.

Yeah, same here..
'replaced the sender & condensor, but the guage is still pinned past 110.
I'm going to drill a little hole & try to move the needle.
If that dosn't work, I'm gettin an aftermarket guage.

Banzai Toyota has New condensors for $13 shipped.

Mazdatrix has the capacitors, give 'em a call...If Banzai doesn't work out...

First thing to always do when getting freaky oil pressure readings is to grab a screwdriver and tap the sender while running, while somebody's watching the gauge. If anything changes, it's the sender, or connector...

A clogging oil filter will also raise the pressures...
