vert tops

I just picked up an 88 vert. The top is torn just behind the doors on both sides, and the seams are coming apart on the drivers side.

Any one know where to get a good top, and how much they go for? Also, the car is missing the boot that covers the top when down. Where can I find one of these?

Thank you,

Later,
Bill

Why would you believe us about the top if you don't believe us about the GTUs sticker someone put on the S4 vert you bought?

Oh well, why not? Here is where I got mine.

It's not that hard, just take your time.

Good luck.

I would advise against the e-bay tops even though their price is good. I bought one and installed it myself with the thread Jason D wrote on torquecentral as a guide BUT if I had to do over I would be happy to pay twice as much for a better top!!! The quality of the e-bay top is poor and there is no reinforcements like the original. I also have a thread on torquecentral with pic.s of my install. You can look up Rxv8rx7 and check out my posts/threads for actual pictures of a $277 e-bay lump-o-coal. It is better than a torn top but thats about it. Anyway, thats my 2 cents. Good luck. Rick.

The pinpoint vinyl is vinyl covered fabric. It is substantially the same material as the oem top. I have the pinpoint vinyl bestco top on the back of my vert and an oem covered targa. You can tell some difference between the age of the material, but the texture is the same or very very similar.

The Stayfast canvas is cloth with a very tight weave, so tight that it is waterproof. My wife has a Celica vert with a canvas top. It is a very, very classy material. It is also supposed to last a little longer than the vinyl.

I would pay the extra $ if I was doing a top on a car that I intended to keep.

LOL, dude, I believe you, I just think it is funny. I am not disagreeing with you about wether or not it is a GTUs. I just put "yes it is" because it has the stickers on it. Supposed to be a joke.

Anyhow, Thank you for the info on the tops. I will look into those.

Rick, thanks for the advice, I will continue to check out all options that I come across, but it is good to know what to watch out for.

Alright well i now have an enormous hole forming above my rear window and it's time for a new top. I like this company...
http://www.aabestco.com/merchant.iht...tid=564&step=4
Does anyone have any experience with them? Also, i'm looking at buying the stayfast canvas top. Does anyone have any experince with these?
Lastly, i'll be doing the installation myself. Does anyone know of any good links that I could read on that might help the install go smoothly? Thanks
