yeah.. that way when you hit things/roll it/whatever you are thrown free of the car...
lol
seriously, as soon as you try and drift once you'll realize that the car doesn't matter much... figureing out WTF you're doing is FAR more important than what car you're using.. just worry about not hitting the trees.

And worry about not setting a one tire fire!!!
Because I did some do-nuts in my vert last night.... and about all it did was leave some good one tire fires!
But it was fun

thier is a drift vert in one of the import magazines this month. Paint job is something to be desired. And he has a stock t2 motor. How do you get into a mag with a stock motor?

Lots of poeple do that every day! They have riced out cars..... Gay paint job that was designed by a 5 year old, and the interior is all painted, but the only thing done to the motor is an intake filter, and some neon hoses......
It's horrible.

Actually I think the vert would be worse for drifting. its suspension is set up much better than the coupe and tends to hug the road better, as well has additional weight, that further helps reduce the loss of traction that many drifters want.

yea, the vert should be the worst for drifting...weight + a lot of chassis movement doesn't net the response and immediate weight transfer you want for drifting.

I don't notice any chasis movement in my vert!
It has lowering springs... but still, that pig handles AWSOME!
I can pull corners wayyyyy faster with the vert than with the 88 coupe I had.

i wouldve thought that it was worse for drift because it has a big cavity in the car. i think the coupes have better frames which result in a stiffer ride. but icemark brings up a good point.

With the top up and locked there is an integrated roll bar in the top, and frame stiffness of within 1% of the coupes.

My 88 vert drifts nices. I have exhaust and a nice clutch and tires. I'll let go of the steering wheel in the middle of drift'n and I'll straightin out perfect. It does hug the road pretty hard though, gotta get it goin to break loose all the way.

who says the vert chassis moves? physics...the top half of the car isn't connected!! it can't be as rigid as the coupe, just like a coupe with a sunroof is less rigid than a standard coupe. why do you think rigidity increases with chassis bracing like strut tower bars and lower arm bars etc...why do you think a roll cage helps the car maintain stability and overall handling? it keeps the chassis from flexing and just bc you don't feel it doesn't mean it isn't happening.
