vapor leak - any ideas?
so here's a problem to scratch your heads to.
driving down the road, especially when i'm doing or just finishing a rapid acceleration, you can hear what sounds like a liquid substance bubbling/squirting under the dash by the driver's side windshield vent, and then a vapor comes up through the vent and sticks to the windshield like as if the windshield is fogging up, except instead of a watery residue like with fog, this is a slimy kind of residue. it doesn't affect the performance of the car, it's just really annoying to see the windshield fog up in that one spot when it happens.
i'm thinking maybe this is a small antifreeze leak... i think it's near where the hoses are for the heating column... but the problem does not change whether i have the heat engaged or not. i'm considering to do a heating bypass because it is getting close to the summer and seeing if that fixes it, although i'm doubtful because of how the problem is not dependent on the blowers, it seems to happen with acceleration... and there is no real hint of odor to it from what i can tell... what do you think?
