Vacuum Lines on S5 TID

The two vac. lines from the tid go to check valves, correct? What do they check?

one goes to a check valve.. so air can only go one way through it. comes from the vac rack and oil fill tube line.

the other line goes to the stock boost contoller.

maybe they both use valves.... can't remember.

If both of these lines were left dangling, what would the effect be?

I know you can leave the one with the metal check valve dangling with no problem it's just crank case ventilation. The other one I'm not familliar with, is it S5 specific?

Yes, it is S5 specific in that the S4 only has 1 vac line off of the tid (I believe). One line goesto the turbo boost duty solenoid valve, and the other goes to a switchng solenoid valve. The question is, "is there a result when these two lines are left dangling?" and "if so, is it a positive or negative result?"

hmm... you'd have to block the hole in the TID for sure. if you left the other one out the car might run a little werid while on boost. if you blocked it. you would only run 5psi.

Has anyone ever done the tid mod and left these two lines open?

just get a manual boost controller for $30... that gets rid of the 2nd line. and will make the car faster... just put a nipple on the TID for the first one. it's not hard.
