Vacuum Line Question on 88 T2
Vacuum Line Question on 88 T2
I'm connecting up all my vacumm lines again since it is obviouis that the guy I bought my car from just threw them all in. There are a couple of areas where I am confused as to where they go and can't figure them out from the factory diagram.
1. There are 3 lines running to the back of the manifold, but only 2 connectors back there plus some sort of valve back there on one already? Any clues
2. As far as I could tell my secondary fuel rail has no vacuum line connector at the end of it So how do I hook up this line?
3. Where do the charcoal canister lines go?
Any help appreciated.

Ignore question 2, but when I figured that out I got another one.
On the back of the manifold there is a little control thing shaped like a C and do you hook lines up to the top and bottom of it. The top looks to big to be for a vacuum line.

The charcol lines run from a line coming up by your fuel lines, and another line right by your intermediate housing. Then they go across the firewall to the can.

Go to www.fc3s.org or www.iluvmyrx7.com and download the Factory Service Manual in PDF format for free. You only need to download the chapters that you need at the time. The vacuum hose routing diagrams are in the EFI chapter.
From memory, I think the three lines you're talking about go as follows...
top - 3.5mm line to LIM in between oil nozzles
middle - 6mm line to vacuum spider-splits to 4 oil nozzles
bottom - 3.5mm line goes to check valve then DC
Definitely get a FSM to double check, but I believe these are right on.

The C thing has me going. Maybe you mean the solenoid. It has a large hose on it that should go to the back of the intercooler. Its a solenoid that was/is meant for the power steering. Acitvated only when you turn the wheel to assist in keeping the motor running. CAlled a Air Suppy Valve on a series four. Two wire plug going to it. Takes air from the intercooler and feeds it into the body of the throttle body.

Thanks for the info. I had already looked at the fsm, but the picture was confusing. The "C" I was talking about is directly below the upper intake manifold attached to the lower intake manifold.
Any thoughts

the "C" on the lower intake isn't on the vaccuum diagram because it doesn't have any vaccuum lines attached to it. It is actually part of the sub-zero starting assist. The bigger tube connects to a line coming from the starting assist tank and the smaller tube is supposed to be plugged from what it says in the FSM. It took me an hour or so if searching to finally figure out what it was. If you want to look at it, it's in the FSM under the "fuel and emissions control systems". Hope this helps you.
