i have the same problem...it's been like this for me for a while..kind of annoying ...i think it might be a broken sensor..not sure..anyone wish to shine some light ont he subject?

bad pick up in the tank... been covered before...
There are two pick ups/sensors in the tank, one for the fuel level, and one for the low fuel light.
Sounds like the low fuel light one is bad or has a bad connection.
