vacuum leak?

ok so the past week I have noticed that my power is almost totally gone around 7k rpms, which I don't think is the 5th and 6th ports because they open up earlier than that I'm pretty sure. I was thinking maybe it was a vacuum leak. Then today I was driving around and redlining to see where the power was droping off for sure and then I slowed to turn a corner and when I accelerated I could hear a loud "woosh" sound... it sounded like it was from the passenger side of the car, and also at the same time my exhaust seemed to get a lot louder, I already had a whole in my cat or something I think because it was a little louder under the seat area than when I bought it, but now its really loud in that area... I'm not sure if these 2 things have anything to do with each other or not, maybe something in the exhaust just got disconnected at the same time as a vacuum line did, I don't know. I just thought it was kind of strange that both happened at the exact same time... well anyways, it only makes the "woosh" sound when in gear so I'm still thinking its a vacuum line, but if anyone could help me that would be great because every diagram I've seen shows like 20 vacuum lines so I'm lost on what to do at the moment. thanks

ok so I acctually took the time to look at the exhaust after I posted this, which I should have done before hand because my passenger side muffler is totally disconnected from the y-pipe... but anyways, that was never the problem in the first place... I still don't think that would have anything to do with the "woosh" sound would it? or maybe it would... but then theres still the question of losing almost all power over 7k rpms the last few weeks

I'm just really frustrated right now so some help would be awesome

just go over all you vac lines with throttle body cleaner at idle. when the sound of the motor changes you found a leak. just be careful cause that stuff can eat paint and when you find the leak spray off the throttle body clean just to make sure it doesnt eat away anything else. Darin
