V-mount?

Are there any V-mount kits out there for the fc specifically or will I have to go custom? I think i may go custom any way if its too much. Anyone have any input on this type of setup or do u guys prefer FMIC with a couple of big *** fans?

Ok thanks
Jon

FMIC is easier to do.....no need for fans

vmount youll need custom brackets and mounts for both radiator and intercooler....an electric fan or two on your radiator....plus a vented hood ....

much easier to leave the radiator where it is and just make a custom or buy a kit for a FMIC

Have to go custom.

If I was going to go FMIC I would prefer Vmount.

Both RAD and IC get good airflow without blocking the other.

Yeah you'll need a vented hood but if your already going to do it then that shouldn't be a problem.

Just get a NA hood and then do some cutting and fiber glassing and you'll have a vented hood.

RE Amemiya has V-mounts on their race FC, but im not sure if they sell it. they sell one for FD so maybe for FC. the FD one runs like $2500 +/-$200 but thats a beefy *** radiator and healthy sized IC

No Need for V-Mount if you remove your AC Heat exchanger and get an upgraded radiator when you go with a FMIC.

In fact... MOST guys still run the AC with the FMIC... THe upgraded Radiator is a reeeaaaaall good idea though.

How do you run AC with FMIC? Don't you have to remove it for most kits out there right now? It would be great if I could keep AC with FMIC.

I'm pretty sure you can keep the A/C with the Greddy kit

Hmmm... I better double check on that because RX-7 Store told me AC needs to be removed. Anyway, thanks

V-Mounts are the best imo.
But a rev-cowl is necessary
my reasons:
-the air going through the radiator hasnt already been heated by the intercooler

-intercooler doesnt get stones and stuff flicked off the road at it

-if you crash, the vitals are away from the front of the car, so its more likely youll only have to replace your bumper

-shorter inlet route from turbo to tb ie. less lag

-the fact that both the intercooler and radiator get their own cool air supply means they dont have to be as big as with a conventional fmic setup

These are on FD's but you get the idea. Take an IC and Radiator, smack up together at a 45 degree angle and theres your V. This way air coming from the front goes equally to both the IC then the radiator.
