Using the Knock box to retard timing

As far as i know the knock sensor and knock box are used to retard the timing under detonation & preignition ( just so we dont get any squabbles )

Has anyone thought about ( if its even possible as i may be barking up the wrong tree )removing the knock box and using its connection to the ECU to try and retaerd timing to a specific amount? or a there abouts amount as the case may be?

As we all know the limitations of using a SAFC is the fact that it advances the timing when you decrease the AFM signal when using larger injectors.

Its my understanding the knock control does this, but as we all know it is usually far to late to save the motor. BUT what about it it some kind of controller is used to activate the signal to retard or advance the timing?

I dont know how/what the signal is that it sends to the ECU but im sure someone does and can clear this up?

PS sorry if this has been asked before

From what ive read so far the knock control box sends a very low vloage signal to the ecu which then interprets that and retards the timing. the exact voltage i do not know.
the other thing i keep reading is that it ignore the knock control after 4k rpm ( i may have go this mixed up )

do you think it is the ecu ignoring the knock control or the knock crotrol ignoring the sensor? as this could be very vital infomation.

also, does the ecu have a set amount which it retard the timing when it gets a signal or is it in relation to the strength of the signal it gets from the KCB?

so nobody has any idea on how the knock box actually works or even remotly interested in a device that could possible yeild alot of benifits from little cost?? I just need to know how it works exactly and then i'll figure something out and sell it to the world and make heaps of money. if it works that is.
