ok....car would start and run for a few yesterday so it was my battery being low......the battery is fine now and all it does is turn over....every once in a while it will crank for just a quick sputter......ive got a new fuel pump....new spark plugs..new alt.....all it does is turn over now...ive tried the unflooding method about 5 times and still wont work(the method ive been using is pull fuse, hold down gas pedel and crank for 20 seconds then try to restart WITHOUT touching the gas).....yet it still wont crank......what could be the possible problems that i need to check....all wiring is correct......both batt terminals are secure.....could it be that im using regular 87 octane in it?....are my fuel injectors bad?....PPPPLLLLEEEEAAASSSSEEEEE help.

So you have new plugs and fuel pump but, are you getting spark and/or fuel?!

im checkin the plugs tomorrow to see if im gettin spark...its to cold now....but how do i check to see if im gettin fuel?

update...im gettin spark through the plugs.....now what...everyonce in a while it will fire but i cant get it to crank...what else should i check?

If you have fuel and spark, then it will start. It's probably VERY flooded. Push start it (with another vehicle).

I agree with Aaron here, the car is probably very flooded and that will cause it to be very hard to start up.

Usually when my car was flooded I didnt have much problem getting it to start back up, you just have to be patient.

You may want to try cranking it and keep cranking to build up compression more, after a while of wanting to start up it will eventually start, just make sure you hold the key to keep the motor turning until you know it is running.

Other option like Aaron said is to push start it.

whats the other ways to unflood it other then pullin that one fuse in the engine bay?

I dont think there are any other ways, maybe someone else knows but I am pretty sure thats the only method.

Try searching for "unflooding".

But in a nutshell, you would pull the leading plugs, put a bit of oil into each chamber, rotate the enigne by hand a few revolutions, repeat this whole thing a few times and then try to start the enigne.

Or you could stop pissing around and push start it. Push starting ALWAYS works.

Putting the oil in helps increase the compression , thus helping the motor start. (incase you were wondering)

I did this on my engines first startup a few times to help it to start up, and believe me it took a few hours of cranking to get that badboy started the first time.

Yours having already been driven for however many miles on it should take a fraction of the amount of time.

reason i dont want to push start it is because i dont know if ill be able to stop it...haha...i havent driven it since ive got it....if i knew brakes and steering worked good that biatch woulda already been push started...haha

The way I've used to deflood is to unplug the fuel pump connector in the trunk. Crank it WOT and it'll sputter until it runs. Then it'll die, plug the connector back in and usually it'll start right back up.
