If everything runs well, a good place to start is the exhaust system. Check the n/a performance page for more.

best power mod for the na's is a good exhaust system. the "oven" stuck on the side of our motors isn't exactly engineered for efficiency. people say the drop in filters don't give any gain. i'm hoping to get some dyno testing done on the different intakes to actually have some numbers to back up claims. i'm also working on cold air box that won't break the bank. K&N filters can be had for ~$50. that's about all you can do to the na without tearing it apart and porting.

Congrats. That was my first car, back in high school. 10 cars later I'm back in an FC. Do fluid change, tune up, wires, spark plugs. Then intake. Also no one thinks of wheel and performance tires, but I read somewhere to buy a slow car and learn how to drive it fast. Performance mods won't make a HUGE difference in acceleration on your car. They will enhance performance a little. Spend $25 and do an autocross. That should get you thinking about what needs to be done to your car.

Basic maintenece. Whatever money you have left over, get some kind of aftermarket mufflers.

All FCs have 13B rotaries. Yours is an S4 n/a, which is different than an S5 n/a, and very different than S4 or S5 TIIs (turbos).

s4=86-88 s5=89-91

different intake different computer systems different body parts. you will learn them

first things first is to do the 60k mi tune up, fluids plugs belts hoses..(dont forget the fuelpump sock in the gas tank). best thing to do that costs basically nothing is remove the rats nest and 5-6 ports(search for those) then ground the car then spend your cash on cleaning injectors and replacing the clips and then a good exhaust from the header back. makes for a fun car

Removing the air pump will give you a maximum of less than 1 HP - not at all noticable. If you remove it you will probably fry your cats. In short, don't do it until you get rid of the cats.

u need to learn a lil more about your s4 13b search the forum and do some reading worse part about about your s4 13b it is the pickup tube that runs from the cat to the engine to open the 5th and 6th port u have to use it or wire the ports open but your low end will bog and your gas milage will go to crap
