Update on my project 7: Interior finished up.
Well, as I tick items off the list of finished stuff on the RX7, I get closer and closer to having it on the road again... Tonight I got the last of the interior pretty well finished, I still have to mount the relocated battery to the floor, but that's hidden stuff anyway...
So, here are a few pics... ;D
And, a shot of the original...
So what's been done since the original one (1986 base model)?
Well.....
I replaced all the carpet, plastics, dash, and sunroof with grey interior from a 1987 GXL, which also added the rear bins. I also replaced the seats (TII now) steering wheel (3 spoke, it's getting rewrapped now) and added the stereo (Kenwood eXcelon X715). The center console is black from an S5, and the shifter (which does still need the shaft resprayed and new plastic for the slider part) is from an S4 automatic car. Needless to say, it's come a LONG way.

Other then that, it's a huge improvement over the original, although it's too bad you didn't slap a set of the GXL seats in there. They're much more comfy then the SE ones IMO.

Yes, it's converted to an auto. Read my sig, and if it bothers you, feel free to mock me on PM, but leave it out of the thread.

Replaced hatch (rust around edges)
Replaced both front/rear bumpers
Replaced hood
Replaced ALL interior
Replaced sunroof
Replaced most of the wiring harness
Repaired minor dings, etc. on body and had professionally repainted
Replaced 4 lug base model suspension with S5 TII hubs, springs, brakes, control arms, struts, etc.
The car also has a full polyurethane bushing kit, some weight reduction, walbro fuel pump and modular headlights (going to a smooth kit soon).
I added TSW wheels, and a "yoursport" spoiler (which seem to be pretty rare). The windows are also tinted 25%.
Yes, it also has a piston engine as well... but, as I said, if you want to talk/flame about that, please take it to PM.

hehehehe. I was just using your comment as an excuse to list the ridiculous amount of crap (read money I should've spent on things like FOOD, LOL) that I've done to it. I knew what you meant, I assure you, I'm very CHILL.
Heh, sorry if my post came off wrong.
edit: Oh, and when I said the comment about flaming me, I just meant in general. Some people on this board are a little touchy about the pistons.

Nice job! Say goodbye to another burgandy (Or rust color if your FC has ever left the garage) interior Nice choice on the TII seats, Mazda designed them really well! They're lighter than a lot of aftermarket seats, and are very supportive and comfortable. Mazda also designed a great engine for this car...

No problem with the swap either, I just checked out your vbGarage and it looks pretty sweet actually. I'm not a huge fan of v8 swaps, but it's your RX7, and you did a nice clean job on it. I like the Mazda logo on the valve cover, lol.
Do you have any vids of that thing hauling ***?

I love seeing a clean interior now and then. Sometimes it seems like there is just a small faction of us FC owners who can't stand a 'dirty' car. I appreciate pics so much more that aren't titled 'Sorry it's kind of messy' and show some busted up, 'missing peices' interior. Congrats on keeping it clean and getting rid of the HEINOUS red.
