Update to engine temperature increases with engine speed
Ok, my car is still seeing 3/4 on the temp gauge if I get on the highway. I pulled the thermostat out just to see if that would cool things off and it doesn't seems to make any difference, still running 3/4. I know I'm not supposed to take the thermostat out becuase the engine will go into open loop, but I did it anyway to see if it would help. I cranked the car with the thermostat out and see the coolant flowing in the radiator, I just can't figure out if it is the bearings in the water pump going out or if the radiator is clogged. I flushed the radiator and it started running hotter after that. wtf? Please help. Thanks

You did check your rad cap right??? and do not drive without the thermostat. You already have over heating problems, you don't to make it worse.

I bought a new cap, it's not a mazda but figured it would suffice for the moment. Ever since I put my rebuild in, it has been running warmer than usual, but with the hot weather now, it usually runs over 1/2 way, but after I flushed the cooling system, itruns 3/4 or more. I am thinking water pump or clogged radiator. I am gonna put a new water pump on this weekend and see if that helps. If that doesn't help, I will get my radiator rodded out. I am not spitting coolant from the overflow, so it's not the coolant seals, plus it's a rebuild with about 2500 miles on it.
