Question Unused engine Question

ok ive had my rx-7 down for 8 or 9 months already , BUT Exactly last night i went to the car meet around my area , (when i bought the car the previous owner said it was fine and it just needed Injectors) , and this Guy rolled in , in a 13bt Datsun , People started saying He built engines to for this one guy , but the "oneguy" was the man i bought my car from , So i talked to the engine builder and he says the engine is rebuild and fine..........................Now the question is ive had the car sitting for 9 months maybe (thinking the engine is bad) but come to find out its good........Would it be smart to Start it up after soo long??? will the time of neglect have negative effect on the internals???

Squirt some oil in the spark plug holes. Then pull the EGI fuse and crank it for a little bit. Replace the fuse and give it a go.
