unknown seal taken out from?!1

Well I'm in the process of taking out my pilot bearing, but instread managed to take out a silver beaded seal from somewhere (no clue where) any one know what it might be, and how I'd reinstall it?

The pilot bearing is sealed with a separate grease seal.
It's probably this grease seal that you're talking about.

Throw it away.
It's a one time use only part.
Get another one from the Mazda dealer along with the pilot bearing.

no no it's not from the eccentric shaft it's pretty big too, i'd say 2 1/2 inch in diameter, there was fresh oil on it too

Where did it come from? Pictures? How do you not know where a seal came from if you took it out?

Off hand I'd say that's the rear stationary gear main seal, but that takes effort to remove...

Keep in mind that this seal is only removable if the flywheel is removed.

It's easy to put back in. Just lube up the seal, line it up by hand, and then LIGHTLY tap it in with a hammer working around the circumference.

so it goes back on the rubber part that that flywheel sits behind right? (I tried it put it back in there by hand but the sucker won't fit haha guess i'll tap it with a hammer next)

Guess i forgot to mention I had removed the flywheel in the first place as well (installing a new clutch n flywheel)

also I guess I'll throw in another quick question for Aaron or reTed,

I need a pilot bearing seal as well if I'm gonna put in a new pilot bearing right?

I guess it looks like the o-ring near the bottom left corner (the one by itself)

but yea thx for the help guys

You need a new pilot bearing seal when you replace the bearing.

Check the FAQ and download the FSM to be sure we are talking about the correct seal. The flywheel does not sit behind any "rubber part". The main stationary seal fits around the eccentric and sits within the stationary gear.
