car wont turn off for like 2-5 seconds

ok so here is the story i was putting connecting the fog lights that were on the car.(fog lights were already installed and wired but the previous owner did not have them connected.)and organizing some wires in my fc. and now when i turn off the car the car stays on for about 2-5 seconds and then turns it self off. that wasant happening before and all i did different was connect the fog lights and i bought a new switch. if anyone has had this issue or know anything about it please help me out.

Somehow your new wiring is backfeeding power to the ECU/coils etc. I've no idea which wire etc. That's not knowable from this side of the computer screen. In other words rewire it.

That happened to my old TII. I replaced the ignition switch, but I found some wires that were not connected.

Make sure all of your ignition switch wires are properly connected. If that doesn't work, try a different ignition switch.

yea, i had the same issue when i had my S13, i wired my fan to the fuel pump fuse, but the car wouldnt shut off until the fan stopped spinning. somehow, either your fogs or something else you wired up is still giving off power fr a couple of seconds after the ignition is shut off.

Whatever it is, I suspect that when you turn the key OFF, the fuel pump is dying, but the ignition circuit is still powered up. Can't tell from here.

yea that sounds about right when i turn the key off the car turns off due to what seams like lack of fuel. but i noticed that it dint do it today when i drove to work i turned it on and off a couple of times and it dint do it. i havent touched it so it kind of fixed it self. should i leave it like this and wait till it does it again or should i check the wiring. also can this problem lead to a bigger problem or is it not a big deal.

IF after you turn it off, and pull the key out, you can't see anything that is powered up that shouldn't be, then I'd let it go.

Maybe also have a look at your volt gauge if you have one, and after the key is out, make sure it shows zero volts.
