Unknown part ( mitsu emblem )

I have a 91. There is a small part next to the pressure sensor with a mitsubishi sign on top of it. What does it do? One side has wires coming out and the other has a tube that looks like it could transfer some sort of liquid. I pulled 2 of them off of some other RX7s today.

The place where the part goes in my car is empty. Looking to put one of them in tomorrow but i need to know what it is and what it does before hand

Ok this is where it should go. Next to the pressure sensor.

This is what it looks like

On another note. In order to save a thread, does anyone know where my water pump is located? I'm trying to replace it but cant find it.

aha after digging in the fsm i have figured it out,

its the vacume switch for the Automatic transmission. that explains it cause it was an auto parts car, and none of my manual cars have ever had that!

learn something new every day

I don't think there is broad knowledge of all the little differences between auto and manual cars

Now it make sense!!! My convert and my coupe had a empty space there, but all the rx7s i picked part from were autos... Good find.

So the pump is connected to the fan you say? Ill see what i can do about it tomorrow. Hopefully this will fix some of the problems i am facing at the moment.

If the pump was broken the fan wouldn't spin it would it??

If the pump was locked up and couldn't be turned by hand the fan wouldn't spin.

the fan is on a clutch, so it will spin kinda freely unless its over 91C
