twin turbo

anybody ever make a TT car using twin stock turbos (s4 or s5) ?

doesnt sound like it would be too hard.... but worth it? in my case it would just be making the custom downpipe and manifold.

There is nothing wrong with twin turbo, but don't use 30 year-old turbo technology when doing it. There is a guy who did a nice after market twin setup on his third gen on here last year. He liked the results.

Using S4 or S5 turbos would be a waste of your time and effort.

thats why i was wondering. if i could get a reliable mid 400hp out of twin s5 turbos, i would definately do it. but i guess if that were the case, more people would have this setup . . .

ive been thinking about going twin for a while now and have many questoins about sequantial setups and manifold design. altough this is not exactly the best section for that thread.

I've seen pics of a FC that someone in Japan did with HT-18s.

worth it? you can make 270 to the wheels with one so who knows with two hybrids, but this project is probably a waste of cash unless you fabricate everything yourself.

i dont want info on twin aftermarket turbos. i know all about that and was reading colemans page months ago. i just want to know about using STOCK turbos. i would do all the fabing myself, if it was worth doing. im just wondering about what kind of power can be made, and how fast it would spool up. so far its looking like a waste of time.

I did a search in the 2nd gen forum for "twin turbo":

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=730364
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=727375
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=718967
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=643330
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=705219

There are a lot of these kinds of topics around...A search in the Single Turbo forum (as weird as that sounds) will also turn up a lot of info.

some guy with a first gen did that but he said that they create alot of turbo lag in a twin setup, why spend all that money on a set of HT18 turbos and make the same amount of HP if you get a T25 turbos that will help better with the respond

ya thats what i was thinking. i saw a lot of twin manifolds, and some twin 16g iirc kits. im going to stray away from twins on a 13b for now. if i ever do persue my 20b build up (depends on how everything goes after college) im going to build a twin sequential SP or maybe HB ported 20b. shooting for reliable 700hp gonna take a few more yers of plannning though. hahaha
