you can move it over by hand. I do it alot when i'm setting my timing. It sucks but it is possible if you have all your ps/ac/air pump removed.
Also it's sometimes easier just using the pully and not pulling the belts.

haha, no, i don't want to start it by pulling on the belts! i am skeptical that my engine is seized do these things just seize out of nowhere with no sound or any other spectacular display? i came out of walmart and it would not start, starter can't turn the engine. i've had no trouble with it up till the other night when it did this.

What did it do when you tried to start it?

when i tried starting it, i seem to remember the engine spinning for just a split second, but then the starter just bogged down. now when i try starting, it sounds like the starter is throwing the starter gear out to the flywheel, but it just can't get the engine to turn over. it draws a ton of juice when doing this because the headlights will just barely glow. i really think the engine is locked up how can this happen, the car was running just fine when i parked it at walmart, but then a half hour later the thing is seized?? i don't get it. i'm going to try turning it over with a breaker bar tonight. i've already tried pull starting it behind a truck, but i only tried first gear, didn't think to try any others. in first, the tires just locked up.

I don't think it's your engine.
It's either your battery or starter. Check your battery and see if it's gaining enough volts...... that or take out your starter, take it to like an auto parts store, and have them test it.
I don't really think that your engine is just siezed.

90% says you need a starter.
to answer your question the easiest thing to do is to get a 17mm ratchet and turn the nut not on the P/S pulley but the one to the right of it clockwise while in neutral. You will see the crank pulley (fan) spin along with it. If you have it in gear it shouldn't move unless you really torque on that bitch.

Pull the starter, Go to auto parts or whatever, get it tested. I do not believe it's your engine that siezed up. That, or get your battery tested.
