turbonator

i heard of this thing called the turbonator. Supposedly it goes on your intake hose and supercharges your air, adding 15-30 hP, and 15-30% better gas milege. Anyone ever heard of this thing??!! Does it work? Is it worth buying??

Never heard of it but when things sound too good to be true they usually are. Is this some "tornado" type thing? If it is dont waste your money they only work on old cars that had ancient air intake systems.

LOL
this sounds like the electric turbo off of ebay... So far i havent seen any dyno results or anything like that, but according to some guys 'butt dyno' it was a good investment. If you ask me, id say youre better off going out to your tool shed, grabbing a leaf blower, and wiring that up to your intake.

OK. Here is the thing about things that give you "better gas milage."

If it works so well, why is it not in the car already?

leaf blower super charger??..lol Those ebay turbonators are DC fans like the ones used on boats to air out engine bays and some are from the RC airplane industries. Do they work? I'm skeptical, I'd say NO, the current draw from your alt when that thing spins up probly draws as much of your engine as the added air going in it. Im guessing if any gain at all 3 hp at the most. And a gain in mpg?? I suriouly doubt it, the tornados dont work at all, neither should this tationary fan in your intake (it only turns on at WOT)

That picture was actually taken as a joke. That guy knows it doesn't work. Too many people have taken it seriously though. I wonder how many ricers have tried it!
