TurboII for 800?
TurboII for 800?
Well this guy offered me his '88 SE with a JDM TurboII engine in there for 800 bucks. But the bad things is that is not running because the swap is not finished.
When I when and saw the car I found the engine and trans are in the car. Whole bunch of misalenious parts inside like stock air box, underbady panels, ext. what It needs is a drive shaft, trans cross member, ignition, downpipe, and radiator because he said that u need upgraded radiator.
the chasis has 140,xxx miles with no underbody rust. it has front fenders from another because the stockers where rusted, cuople of bondo on rear panel (took a little hit) but he has color matched paint to go with it. ECU and wiring come in a box too with a air flow meter.
So what do you guys think for a project?

Sounds good as long as the engine doesn't need to be rebuilt, and it won't need it soon. Otherwise you're looking at a lot more money.
Good project, won't be running for a bit though.
Offer him like $700 or so...

Better yet value it as if the engine is not in there. that's what it is worth.
Compression test the engine where it sits. This will help you decide.
Good Luck!
I wouldnt worry too much about hope princess lea. Buy the thing for 800. 1500 for a rebuild or a reliable atkins jdm import+ misc bs. Got a t2 for under 3 grand. OOOh.... or better yet 800 if ya dont have to go that route.

Engine was purchased from J-Spec Auto http://www.jspecauto.com/ They seem like they do their bussines right from reading their customers comments, but yeah mostly are from honda engines, hopefully they send good compression rotaries too.
Dude, I know I'm going to be burned at the stake for saying this, but I'd just swap an LS1 in it.
Do a leak-down/compression test to make sure the motor is good, sell all the extra bits you have and the motor and transmission, then find an LS1 to drop into the beast.

Worst case is the car + engine is worth a hell of a lot more in parts. If it turns out the engine is toast and you cannot rebuild, you'll get your 800 back by parting it out.
oh yeah if you going the LS1 route, sell me your tii engine!!! haha
