Question Turbo whine on 88 RX7 Turbo II

88 RX7 Turbo II, 10th anniversary edition.....Any help would be appreciated...I have an intermittent, high pitched whine coming from the area where the intercooler intake is. It doesn't seem to be effectinig power, but the whine comes and goes at will (more often now than last week etc...). Usually more when warm. Any ideas???is there an air pump that might have a bad bearing> could it be vaccuum related...???

The whine starts about 5 minutes after cold start. (at warm up). It is prett well constant, during idle, while decelerating. cruising, and I believe under boost too, but it's hard to hear it under boost because of the noise of the vehicle, exhaust and turbo whistle. Then, out of the blue, it stops whining. I can't assosiate any activity with the time it stops, nor when it returns randomly some time after that....

It's probably just a belt. If you replace one you should replace them all.

But the whine is definitely coming from inside the intercooler housing.....
