turbo timer question.
Does anyone know if the hks rx7 turbo timer plug and play harness will fit the rx7 n/a and convertible ecu as well? I want a turbo timer for my 1991 vert, just to let those rotors cool down after a spirited drive.

Please don't bother with a turbo-timer--especially on an N/A... Not worth the time or money just to have a cool ricer trick. You'd cool your car much better if you just drive normally for one minute before shutting the car off--that way at least your forcing air into the oil cooler and radiator.

I don't blame you. Yeah a turbo timer is much more needed on a turbo charged car since they run harder, but it definetly can't hurt if you don't have time to sit and wait. Not to mention that if you get a turbo later on your set right. I have an apexi turbo timer and it says it will work with both turbo and na cars. Does the manual for the turbo timer specify that it is compatible with the RX-7 FC? If it does there shouldn't be a problem with na or convertible models.

Turbo timers are pretty much universal. As far as the quick harness working on an n/a, I have no idea. IMO, it's pretty much useless on an N/A. Just don't do a burnout and park it.

oh god jesus when will it stop?
you dont need one in an na car. period. no matter how you slice it. shut up and turn the car off.
in a turbo car, its not needed if its water cooled. by the time you pull up to the parking lot and turn it off, it will be cooled down.
now if its not water cooled, then yes, you would benefit from having one.

the turbo timer harness just plugs into ignition harness behind steering column . two two wire black plugs and one single white plug with white wire then you ground black wire really simple to check and see if your car will work . even na's have to have ignition harnesses. How hard was that to answer without sarcasm.
Some people cannot take no for an answer so just give them an answer to the best of your knowledge and your personal opinion.
I have a brother that way so i've learned to deal with it , somewhat.
