+1 i was thinking of adding one myself

this is what Evil Aviator had to say when i asked

"Also, just in case you don't know, the stock RX-7 turbo is water-cooled. Therefore, there is no reason to install a turbo timer unless you drive in conditions such that you slam on the brakes and immediately park and jump out of the car after driving the engine at full boost. Most street and race driving conditions will allow the turbo to cool while the car is driven off-boost through the parking lot or paddock area. If you think about it, these cars are 20 years old and the turbos still work fine without a turbo timer. I suggest spending your money on something more worthwhile."

The connecters are under the dash below the steering collumn. The connecters are easy to spot because they look just like the ones in the kit. You just have to plug them in. Just look out though because the connections are the same on two of them and can be mixed up. Youll know if you have if right or wrong because the car wont start the wrong way.

if you must get a turbo timer, PLEASE get one with a plug-and-play harness, like the Greddy. No offense, but if you are making this thread you have no business hacking into your ignition harness.

unless you have an aftermarket turbo its pretty worthless.. But the Greddy one does have a voltmeter which comes in handy for a TII.

yes, NAs have ignition cylinders too

they just connect to the ignition cylinder (where you put your keys in)

and +1 get the greddy one with the plug and play harness

if you want to get the HKS one, get the greddy harness and splice up the greddy harness, not the stock one.

Regardless of whether the turbo is water cooled or not, waiting to let the oil circulate is a good idea after long periods of boosting. Most of us run richer mixtures and more boost than the stock setup. Drive on the highway, redline third and fourth gear and pull over with the engine on and look at your turbine housing, its probably glowing red hot.

With that said, a turbo timer is the dumbest and biggest ricer mod I've ever seen. Most people that get them don't even drive their cars hard. Its not like you drift into a damn parking spot everytime and shut the car off After boosting you normally have short periods of time where you drive normally and follow the speed limit. If not, let the car cool down for ~2 minutes after you reach your destination.

Why spend $150+ for this dumbass mod when your car could probably use more performance and reliability mods

Edit: I realize I just repeated Evil Aviator's post, please ignore.
